Curtin University
Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International

Welcome from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International

Curtin University is the largest and most multicultural university in Western Australia and has a diverse population of students from more than 130 countries. The University takes its name from the Prime Minister of Australia from 1941–45, John Curtin, and its values reflect the leadership and strength associated with one of Australia's pre-eminent Prime Ministers.

An international university; Curtin also has offshore campuses in the Asia-Pacific region in Singapore and East Malaysia. Each campus is well placed geographically to forge strong links with community and industry, upholding our reputation as a university serving its region. The University also has successful partnerships to offer courses in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. We see mobility as an important element in our endeavour to provide every student an international education experience, and actively encourage our students to contemplate time abroad.

More than 50,000 students from 130 countries choose Curtin's campuses for their studies. The University's programs focus on the provision of knowledge and skills to meet industry and workplace standards, producing job-ready graduates for a global market. The University's connections ensure courses are relevant to the current trends of their industry. These connections are also reflected in the opportunities our students enjoy–established networks with more than 400 institutions in 40 countries provide them with the chance to improve their career development, travel and study prospects.

A combination of excellent resources, staff and technology makes Curtin a leader in tertiary education, both within Australia and overseas. Curtin University is ranked in the top two per cent of universities worldwide in the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2016. It is ranked 27th in the world for universities under the age of 50 in the QS World University Rankings 2016 and has received a five-star overall excellence rating in the QS Stars University Ratings 2015. Curtin's vision is to be a recognised international leader in research and education by 2030, changing minds, lives and the world through leadership, innovation and excellence in teaching and education.

I am confident that a Curtin qualification will stand you in good stead in this increasingly global environment.

Welcome to Curtin.
